Title: Previous HitEnNext Hit Echelon Tension Fissures and Faults

Author(s): Theodore A. Link (2)

Abstract:

Observations of growing tension fissures reveal that they begin as systems of minute off-set or Previous HitenNext Hit echelon breaks which subsequently unite to form one continuous, irregular, jagged, tension fissure. It is suggested that the belts of Previous HitenNext Hit echelon faults of central Oklahoma as well as the Mexia and Balcones fault systems are an expression of incipient Previous HitenTop echelon fissures along whose planes normal adjustment faults occurred.
