Title: Economic Paleontology and Mineralogy--An Appraisal

Author(s): Herschel L. Driver (2)

Abstract:

The demands for oil and efficient use of manpower serve as a challenge to everyone connected with the oil profession to aid in obtaining the most oil with the least amount of lost effort. Cooperation is paramount and requires an understanding of the activities of co-workers in allied sciences. Accordingly, this paper presents the economic aspects of paleontology and petrology, answers some of the common questions and comments directed to these laboratory workers, and offers suggestions toward more efficient use of data and training derived from these sciences.
