Title: Application of Chemical Analysis of Crude Oils to Problems of Petroleum Geology Study of Crude Oils of Forest Sands of Bernstein Field, Trinidad, B. W. I.

Author(s): K. W. Barr (2), F. Morton (3), A. R. Richards (3)

Abstract:

The chemical analysis of individual crude oils from a specific area has been used in a study of the variations of crude-oil type. The conclusions drawn from the chemical evidence are discussed in relation to the geology of the area and it is shown that correlation by means of chemical evidence substantiates the geological findings. Evidence is given for the migration of a paraffine-aromatic type oil into the normally naphthenic oil-bearing Forest sands of the Bernstein field of Trinidad, British West Indies.
