Abstract:

The Joseph Lake oil field of the Edmonton district is described as known to date. It produces high-gravity premium (FOOTNOTE 3) oil from the Previous HitVikingNext Hit sand of Cretaceous age. The structure of the field is regarded as anticlinal and to have originated from differential subsidence after Previous HitVikingTop deposition. The age of the oil is discussed.
