Title: Developments in Oklahoma in 1951

Author(s): Milan D. Maravich (2)

Abstract:

Exploratory drilling decreased slightly in Oklahoma during 1951, even though the total number of wells drilled was greater than in 1950. In contrast to previous years, wildcat drilling failed to uncover any fields of major importance during 1951. Over-all reserves, however, were increased considerably due to accelerated development drilling, discovery of new zones in old fields, and many additional secondary-recovery projects.
