Abstract:
Drilling activity in Kansas in 1965, outside of the shallow-stripper area of southeastern Kansas, continued to decline with 2,635 completions compared with 2,975 in 1964.
In 1965, 826 exploratory tests were drilled in Kansas, resulting in 93 oil discoveries, 8 gas discoveries, and 725 dry holes.
There were 13 exploratory tests drilled in Nebraska east of the 98th meridian, 10 in Iowa, and 1 in Missouri. All were dry.
