Title: Developments in Upper Gulf Coast of Texas in 1965

Author(s): Robert S. Dollison (2)

Abstract:

Exploratory drilling decreased 5% in 1965; discoveries decreased 23%. Twenty-three discoveries resulted from the drilling of 261 wells, a success ratio of 1:11. Increased seismograph activity and leasing in the Miocene trend offshore indicate that this trend will be drilled more extensively in the future. Wildcats decreased 37% in the Frio trend, and increased 60% in the Yegua trend.
