Abstract:
Drilling activity, outside of the shallow-stripper area of southeastern Kansas, declined from 2,635 completions in 1965 to 2,489 in 1966.
In 1966, 924 exploratory tests were drilled resulting in 146 oil wells, 26 gas wells and 752 dry holes. There were 7 exploratory tests drilled in Nebraska east of the 98th meridian, 4 in Missouri, and 1 in Iowa. All were dry.
