Title: Relation Between Interior Previous HitSaltNext Hit Domes and Basin Morphology: ABSTRACT

Author(s): Oscar L. Paulson, Jr.

Article Type: Meeting abstract

Abstract:

The Previous HitsaltNext Hit domes which extend from the Perry County basin to the North Louisiana syncline (Interior Previous HitSaltNext Hit basin) are believed by some to occupy this position because they are in a Previous HitsaltNext Hit basin separate from those of the coastal area; others believe that the movement of the interior Previous HitsaltNext Hit domes began earlier than the movement of those along the coast. All Previous HitsaltNext Hit-Previous HitdomeNext Hit movement is thought to take place where sediments overlying the Previous HitsaltNext Hit are thickest or perhaps where the Louann Previous HitSaltNext Hit is thickest. This paper shows that a definite pattern of distribution exists and that this pattern is influenced by the shape and structure of the basin occupied by the interior Previous HitsaltTop domes.
