Abstract:
The 1984 level of drilling activity for Arkansas, north Louisiana, and east Texas (CSD Districts 1, 9, and 24, respectively) varied slightly from 1983 levels. Both east Texas and north Louisiana had slight increases in the level of exploratory drilling, whereas Arkansas exploratory drilling decreased. However, success rates for exploratory drilling rose in all 3 areas. Development drilling decreased in east Texas and Arkansas, but increased substantially in north Louisiana. Success rates for development drilling increased in north Louisiana, but decreased in east Texas and Arkansas.
