Abstract
Structure of the Bull River Valley Near Latitude 49° 35'
ABSTRACT
The area is in the Rocky Mountains, structurally about mid-way between the Rocky Mountain Trench and the front of the Hosmer thrust. Individual structures are described. The Lizard tear fault in the Hosmer thrust is a structural continuation of the Dibble fault. The rocks in the Bull River valley above Dibble Creek belong to the rear part of the Trinity segment of the Hosmer thrust. The transverse faults in the Rockies are genetically related to those opposite them in the Purcells. The relation of the Dibble and Moyie faults supports the conclusion that this part of the Trench is due to gravity faults.
