ABSTRACT: The Use of the Micro-Contact Log in Southwest Texas

Ralph W. Garrett, Jr.

ABSTRACT

One of the problems of micro-contact log interpretation is the negative separation often found in the Jackson oil sands. A possible explanation could be the lack of fresh water permeability in producing oil sands. Several Previous HitillustrationsTop are given of the use of the micro-contact log to differentiate between permeable and non-permeable sands, including one example of a gas sand which would not have been found without the use of the micro-log.
