Abstract
Northwest Branch Field, Acadia Parish, Louisiana
W. A. Haskell
ABSTRACT
Northwest Branch Field is a downthrown to the coast fault structure with hydrocarbon accumulation resulting more from faulting than structural dip closure. The four productive Miocene-Oligocene sands range from the Marginulina texana to the Nodosaria blanpiedi, covering a depth interval from 10,100 feet to 11,200 feet, respectively. As of March 1, 1955, the Nonion struma and the Nodosaria Blanpiedi have been the only sands on production, and they have produced a total of 356,461 barrels of distillate and 4,956 MMCF gas.
