Abstract
The Nonion Struma "Lower Frio" Wedges of Acadia Parish
William R. Paine
ABSTRACT
In the Oligocene-Miocene section of Acadia Parish, three thickened wedges occur within the middle Frio (Nonion struma) section on the down side of three major faults. These wedges form a belt of sands which are productive parallel to the fault trends. These faults and sand wedges con be traced from the northeast corner of Acadia Parish southwestward across Acadia Parish until they are buried under the Hackberry wedge in the vicinity of the Ellis and Egan fields.
