Distribution of Foraminifera Around a Submerged Hill in the Gulf of Mexico

Gene Ross Kellough (1)

ABSTRACT

Detailed studies of the foraminiferal faunas found in six stations partially surrounding a submerged hill in the Gulf of Mexico reveal that in general the faunas agree with those previously published from nearby stations. However, the presence of reworked forms, as well as forms not previously reported from the Gulf of Mexico, indicates that conditions of sedimentation around these hills may be different than that encountered on the normal continental slope.
