Energy: What is Practical in the Near Term?

ABSTRACT
Application of solar energy are briefly surveyed. Building heating and cooling systems, industrial process heating and cooling process heating and power generation applications will be described and state of the art examples will be presented. Emphasis will be on those applications which are now technically and economically competitive with energy derived from fossil fuels: namely passive heating and cooling of buildings. The cost of energy from such systems will be compared with the cost of conventional heating and cooling.
