Biostratigraphy of the Jatibungkus Section (Lokulo Area) in Central Java
Abstract
The results of a biostratigraphycal study, by means of planktonic and larger Foraminifera of the Jatibungkus section are herein discussed.
An Eocene sequence ranging from middle Eocene (zone P 14) to earliest Oligocene (zone P 17) is followed by an interval without sedimentation. The sedimentation however, resumed in late Oligocene (zone N 2).
The Karangsambung formation (an olistostrome) is here recognized as a true formation with a proper stratigraphical value.
