Abstract
The author suggests new concept used to install satellite subsea wells could enhance field development using this method of submerged production systems. The systems presented eliminates:
• Subsea controllers
• Subsea Christmas trees
• Pipe lay barges to lay tubing extensions
The author emphasizes the necessity of a systems engineering approach to obtain a successful installation of satellite subsea wells. The paper reviews new concepts used in the Murchison field of the North Sea to support these conclusions.
