Previous HitWellNext Hit Completions in Arun Field

Samin Tanjung, Syahrizal Tamin

Abstract

Producing one of the largest, most prolific gas fields in the world has been a continuous challenge to the personnel and equipment of Mobil Oil Indonesia Inc. An Arun Field Previous HitcompletionNext Hit produces at an average rate of 150 MMSCF/D. The following wellhead pressures and temperatures of 3500 psig and 325°F, respectively, present an extremely severe environment for Previous HitcompletionNext Hit equipment. The conditions are further complicated by the presence of carbon dioxide.

Mobil has used its three years of Arun Field producing experience and state-of-the-art technology to develop Previous HitcompletionNext Hit techniques that withstand the severe wellbore environment. Stringent testing and exhaustive studies of various wellbore configurations, tubulars, wellheads, seals and packer have guided Mobil to its current Previous HitcompletionTop practices.
