Alternative Well Testing

Munir Daud, Maman Budiman, W. L. Cannan

Abstract

In order to optimize condensate production, a well ranking program which is based on the CGR (Condensate to Gas Ratio) has been developed and maintained in the Arun Field. Because all cluster process separators operate in full capacity during high demand periods and there are no permanent well testing facilities yet, the actual individual well tests to determine the individual well CGR accurately can not be conducted. These limitations led to the development of three alternative methods of well testing: Deletion test, Multiwell test, and Side stream well test. Results of these well tests have been reasonably accurate to rank the wells and obtain individual well CGR's. The results have also been often used for condensate production optimization purposes.
