Reservoir Management Utilizing a Computerized Database

Didi R. Iskandar, Nur Darodjat

Abstract

The current Mobil Oil Indonesia (MOI) Arun field reservoir management objectives are to meet the committed LNG contract, LPG contract, optimize liquid and maximize recovery. The Arun reservoir management plan is to control injection gas distribution, implement a balanced production scheme, selectively complete producing and injection wells, develop the eastern flank of the reef and update the geological description of the reservoir.

Improved knowledge of reservoir requires handling a large volume of data which are time and depth dependent. This large volume of data can best be handled with a computerized database system. The use of computers and software provide an efficient tool for control and management of the field. This will also improve the overall cooperation between the engineer and geologist.
