Quantitative Geophysical Study of the Cleveland Sand Reservoir (Pennsylvanian) in the Eastern Part of Logan County, Oklahoma

Dimitrious Kousparis

ABSTRACT

A study of the Cleveland sand of early Missourian (Pennsylvanian) age in the south half of T17N, R1E, Logan County, Oklahoma, was made using electrical and induction log data. Several electrical parameters were examined and/or calculated. Results were contoured and compared to establish consistant formation properties and facies patterns in the Cleveland sand zone. The data was also used collectively to determine the fracture patterns in the sand -- which is a demonstrable example of the use of these methods in determining waterflood patterns and performance in a fractured reservoir. The detailed multifactor log analyses outlined and illustrated can be used wherever there is sufficient data.
