Abstract
Silicification in the Oneota Dolomite
N. Prokopovich
ABSTRACT
A short description of silicification in the Oneota dolomitic member of the Lower Ordovician Prairie du Chien group in the form of silicified stromatolite colonies and chert nodules near El Paso, Wisconsin is given. The occurrence of chert pebbles showing dehydration cracks and other evidence indicate that silicification took place during the time of the sedimentation.
