ABSTRACT

The literature on Previous HitgeographicNext Hit Previous HitinformationNext Hit Previous HitsystemsNext Hit (GIS) is a rapidly expanding body of knowledge that now represents developments and applications from almost every scientific arena. During the past decade, GIS technology has attracted extensive interest from within the petroleum industry and its related geoscience and engineering disciplines. With over 250 citations, this bibliography details much of what has been reported and written during this time period concerning the use of GIS in petroleum exploration and development. Citations are organized into five general categories: defining concepts and critical discussion, available data, issues in data management and integration, technological developments, and case studies and applications.
