Abstract:

The Stony Creek gas and oil field, about 9 mi south of Moncton, New Brunswick, is the only productive field in Canada east of the province of Ontario. Production is from deltaic sandstone beds in the Albert Formation of Mississippian age. The field has an area of only 1,830 acres and is on the gently dipping north limb of the Weldon syncline.
