Abstract:

A new bathymetric map of the Gulf of California and surrounding region has been produced. The map incorporates previously published data along with a large volume of new data collected on cruises conducted as part of a cooperative effort between Oregon State University and the General Directorate of Oceanography of the Mexican Navy. It provides some new detail on the west side of the peninsula and offshore of southern Mexico. The map consists of two sheets, which can be spliced together. The tracklines for the various cruises are printed on the backs of the maps and can be viewed by using a light table. The map encompasses the entire province at one scale, on one kind of projection, and at one contour interval.
