Abstract:

An integrated approach to land based seismic work has been developed which makes consistency among seismic velocity measures and seismic facies analyses central to the development of and acceptance of interpretive models. Greatly enhanced visibility vital to defining stratigraphic traps results inherently from the treatment and display of the seismic data. Refined use of the velocities also leads to porosity and gas detection in quantitative terms and with greater reliability than had been previously considered feasible.
