Abstract: Bonne Terre Field, McMullen County, Texas: Development of a Multi-Pay Overpressured Gas Field

By

Douglas N. Valleau

Bonne Terre Field, located in southeast McMullen County, Texas, was discovered by the Hanson Minerals Scott Foundation 59 #1 in 1988. The discovery proved the existence of significant reserves within the expanded overpressured Upper Wilcox House section.

The House section at Bonne Terre has an approximate net pay sand interval of 375 feet with productive closure of approximately 800 acres. The productive interval in the House section is subdivided into five separate fields designated as the 10,600 Field, the 10,770 Field, the 10,800 Field, the 10,970 Field, and the Middle House 8 Field.

A total of 15 wells have been drilled to develop the overall field; most have been dually completed. Cumulative production since first sales in March 1988 is in excess of 131 BCF and 828 Mbbls of condensate. Average deliverabilities per well are 20 MMcf per day.
