Abstract: Identification and Interpretation of Naturally Fractured Reservoirs in North Texas

R. W. Frank1, R. B. Simonson2

Many North Texas carbonates exhibit excellent natural fracture systems. This paper discusses how logs may be used to identify and interpret naturally existing fractures in the Caddo, Mississippian and Ellenburger formations.

A special study of the Ellenburger has been made with helpful, common-sense suggestions for the drilling, logging, evaluation and completing of this complex and often frustrating reservoir.
