Abstract:
By means of a graphic log showing the approximate proportion of sand, clay and lime in each sample of well cuttings, in conjunction with glauconitic and phosphatic beds occurring adjacent to stratigraphic breaks, and with the aid of certain distinctive lithologic characters of beds, the "Bend" is delimited and subdivided into units and a correlation of these between two wells 45 miles apart is proposed.
A paper presenting the results of this investigation is to be published by the U. S. Geological Survey as Professional Paper 129-A, which it is expected will be available for distribution in advance of the 1921 meeting of the Association. Anyone can procure a copy by writing to the Director, U. S. Geological Survey, Washington, D. C.
