Title: The Subsurface Distribution of the Comanchean in Western Kansas

Author(s): W. H. Twenhofel, W. L. Stryker

Abstract:

This paper presents the results of a study of many well logs of western Kansas for the light they throw on the subsurface distribution of the Comanchean strata. In Russell and adjacent counties these rocks appear to approximate 200 feet in thickness, but westward and southwestward the thickness seems to increase, becoming 260 feet thick near Voda in Trego County, 456 feet in the Halliday well in Ford County, and 344 feet in the Garden City well in Finney County.
