Author(s): Alva Christine Ellisor (2)

Abstract:

The history of the Claiborne group of East Texas and Louisiana is given, including definitions of the Claiborne formations. On the basis of micropaleontology and lithology, the Claiborne formations are divided into members which are correlated. A subsurface cross section is given showing the correlation of these members in Louisiana and East Texas. A generalized cross section is given showing the stratigraphic position of these members.
