Title: Santiago Pool, Kern County, California: GEOLOGICAL NOTES

Abstract:

The Santiago pool is a stratigraphic oil accumulation in a large upper Miocene sand lense complicated by steep dips but very little faulting. The present length is 2 miles and it has a maximum width of 470 feet. The pool was discovered by a careful study of available subsurface information plus a generous portion of good luck.
