Title: Devonian Dolomitized Reef, D3 Reservoir, Leduc Field, Alberta, Canada

Author(s): W. W. Waring (2), D. B. Layer (3)

Abstract:

The general location, structure, and stratigraphy of the Leduc field are given in brief. The D3 reservoir, a dolomitized Upper Devonian reef which is the lowest producing zone, is discussed in detail. A determination of the volume and inter-relationship of the various types of void space within the reef is presented. The methods used to obtain the data are discussed. These include volumetric measurements and calculations from photographs of sliced diamond cores, porosity and permeability determinations on small plugs and full-size cores, and correlation studies with electrologs and microscopic examination of cores and cuttings.
