Abstract:
Drilling activity in Michigan, during 1949, continues to show an increase over the 1948 totals and the totals for the preceding 5 years, both in exploratory and developmental work.
Core-drill crews were increasingly active in the past year, particularly in the western and northern parts of the state.
Total footage drilled shows some decline, reflecting increased activity in the shallower areas.
There were no deep tests of any particular significance.
There was some decline in oil and gas production, but, for the most part, due to factors other than abnormal depletion.
