Abstract:
Exploration activity in Eastern Canada declined somewhat during 1950; a total of 62 wells were drilled compared with 85 wells in 1949. Two small new gas pools and two small deeper gas pools were discovered in Southwestern Ontario. During the year gravity surveys were carried out in Southwestern Ontario.
Development drilling was on approximately the same scale as in 1949, 280 development wells being completed, 277 in Ontario, and 3 in New Brunswick. Oil production in 1950 amounted to 265,883 barrels and gas production to 11,093,570 MCF.
