Abstract:
The year 1951 in Tennessee showed a slight improvement over the previous year in the number of tests drilled, the number of successful wells, the total exploratory footage drilled, and the production of both oil and gas. Most of the activity was concentrated in six counties of central Tennessee, but 15 counties had some drilling, with 2 tests in west Tennessee and one in east Tennessee. Interest and leasing activity were high.
