Title: Developments in Texas Panhandle in 1951

Abstract:

Drilling activity in the Texas Panhandle declined from the preceding year. In all, 727 development and 49 exploratory wells were drilled during the year. No new fields were discovered; however, 7 exploratory tests were completed as field extensions and 3 as new-pool discoveries. Oil production declined to 31 million barrels while gas production increased to 1.076 trillion cubic feet. Geophysical activity increased to 897 crew weeks over 1950, while leasing activity decreased from the previous year.
