Title: Oil and Gas Developments in Kentucky in 1955

Author(s): Frank H. Walker (2), Edward O. Ray (3), Joseph B. Cathey, Jr. (2)

Abstract:

An increase in drilling activity and further development of secondary-recovery projects resulted in an increase of approximately 2 million barrels of oil and 2,500,000 MCF of gas above the totals of the previous year. New discoveries included 33 new pools, 46 extensions of old pools, and 18 new pays in known producing areas. The amount of deep drilling remained approximately the same.
