Title: Structural Analysis, and Geometrical Prediction for Change of Form with Depth, of Some Arabian Plains-Type Folds

Author(s): W. Sugden (2)

Abstract:

The structural features of some characteristic plains-type folds in Arabia are analyzed and it is deduced that these folds cannot have been formed as a result of differential compaction over buried hills. From the analysis is developed a new practical method for predicting, from limited data, the changes in form of plains-type folds with depth.
