Abstract:
A summary of activity in this area reflects a minor increase in the number of completions as well as total production. The total production is approximately 7½% of the total for the state of Texas. The shallower depths required to reach the majority of prospective producing formations make it especially attractive to independent operators as well as major companies. Subsurface geology is the primary tool used in this area although an increase in seismic activity is noted with emphasis in Grayson County on the east and Hardeman County on the northwest end of the district.
