Abstract:
The dominant structural feature of the Frontal Wichitas of southwestern Oklahoma is a complex fault system. The faulted rocks of Cambrian (basement) through Mississippian age are overlapped by unfaulted Permian rocks. The steeply dipping to vertical major reverse faults trend northwestward through an area of 1,600 square miles. Each of the various fault
blocks exhibits a distinctive linear pattern and a uniform degree of deformation, although the amount of deformation varies from block to block.
