Abstract:
Exploration and development well completions declined 26.3% from the previous year. The Southeastern district, as in 1964, had the most activity, which was devoted mainly to the search for Niagaran reefs in the St. Clair-Macomb County area.
Total drilled footage was 1,444,542 ft. This can be subdivided as follows: exploratory, 602,682 ft.; development, 587,457 ft.; gas storage, 242,957 ft.; and miscellaneous wells, 11,446 ft.
Preliminary production reports indicate a slight drop in oil production, and an increase in gas production. Estimated oil production is 14,728,222 bbls. and gas, 34,961,954 Mcf. L.P.G. production is estimated to be 1,768,770 bbls.
Geophysical activity appeared to be about the same as that in 1964. Leasing activity probably was down, although no figures are available to confirm this.
