Title: Petroleum Developments in Middle East Countries in 1965

Abstract:

Petroleum production in Middle East countries in 1965 totaled 3,048,538,000 bbls. at an average rate of 8,352,159 b/d. This compares with 2,786,559,000 bbls. or 7,613,546 b/d in 1964. The principal production increases were in Iran, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Abu Dhabi.

New fields were found in Iran, Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi, Turkey, and Syria. Extensions and new pools are reported in Kuwait, Iran, and Saudi Arabia.

There were no exploration activities in Iraq, Yemen, Lebanon, and Cyprus. The main areas of exploratory work were Iran, Saudi Arabia, the southern Persian Gulf (both onshore and offshore) and Oman.
