Abstract:
Drilling activity from the shallow-stripper area of Kansas is reported for the first time. This resulted in an unrealistic increase in the 1967 drilling statistics. Development drilling has shown that 7 wells discovered significant reserves in 1967. Review of the geologic features and the exploration methods which were successful in these discoveries illustrates the importance of stratigraphy in the search for significant reserves in Kansas.
