Abstract:
Exploratory and development drilling in eastern and northwestern Colorado in 1971 was up from 1970 and Colorado was the most active state in the Rocky Mountain area. Colorado oil production was up more than 4%. Significant exploratory wells were completed in the Denver basin, North Park basin, Sand Wash basin, and on the Las Animas arch. Development drilling, up substantially from 1970, was highlighted by extensive development programs in Wattenberg, Peoria, Hombre, and Rangely fields.
