Title: Petroleum Developments in Middle East Countries in 1971

Abstract:

Petroleum production in Middle East countries in 1971 totaled 5,928,666,000 bbl at an average rate of 16,242,920 b/d, compared with 5,064,946,000 bbl or 13,876,564 b/d in 1970. The principal production increases were in Iran, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Syria.

New fields were found in Iran, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Abu Dhabi, and Turkey.

There were no exploratory activities in Ajman, Umm Al Qaiwain, Al Fujairah, or Lebanon. The main areas of exploratory work were in Iran, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Abu Dhabi, and Oman.
