Abstract:
Xeroxing of rock sections is a unique new method for obtaining printable reproductions of a rock surface that can show structural, compositional, bedding, grain-relation, or other features. Sawed and smoothed flat sections of rock specimens are placed on a flat-topped Xerox machine and reproduced just as if the specimen were a printed letter. The procedure saves expense and time-consuming effort required by photography. Colors of the specimen reproduce as black, and any color will show as well as in a black-and-white photo.
