Abstract:
Study of a membership profile of the Pacific Section AAPG projected on a national level reveals the jeopardy of not having sufficient geologists to find and develop the oil and gas necessary for "project independence by 1980." Immediate emphasis by present members, managements of companies employing geologists, State and Federal agencies, and colleges and universities must be focused on encouraging prospective geologists and young geologists to join and take an active part in the Section's and Association's activities.
