Title: Petroleum Developments in Middle East Countries in 1974

Abstract:

Petroleum production in Middle East countries in 1974 totaled 7,909,713,000 bbl at an average rate of 21,670,447 b/d, up 2.2% from 1973. The principal production increases were in Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi. There was a significant production decrease in Kuwait. The first oil production in Sharjah came on stream at mid-year.

There were substantial new discoveries in Iran and Saudi Arabia.

The main areas of exploratory work were in Iraq, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi, Oman, and Turkey. New areas for exploration were opened in Iran and Syria.
